Throughout my life I have had many labels: junkie, nutcase, heathen, and rebel to name a few. And while these labels may be accurate, I don’t live my life defined by them. However, all of these labels and the cumulative effect of my life experiences have helped shape me into the man I am today so it is impossible for me to shy away from any of it. So, throughout this blog, I will be candid regarding my checkered past that includes criminal activity, time spent in institutions (behavioral health centers, drug and alcohol rehabs, and jail), homelessness, as well as my current struggles with addiction and mental illness.
